The Equinox Project -
Here’s what Florida DJ
“Marvelous” Marvin Boone has to say about the Debut album from The Equinox
Project, “Right of Ascension”...
“This is Jazz for people who
don't like Jazz. This is Funk for folks who don't like to funk. This is New Age
for those who don't like the new age. This is for those who dislike labels. It
is loopy in the best sense of the word. Background music to play in the
foreground. This is NOT Smooth Jazz, it has plenty of lumps and bumps left in. I
hear a little Miles, a little Thelonius, some Jimmy Smith, and a dash of Stevie
Wonder. Hey, I just heard some Steely Dan!! Splishes of this and splashes of
that. Greg Lassalle on Keyboards; Glen Bush, drums; and Joe Porter looping the
bass. They mix it up and cook real good. The Equinox Project should be playing
somewhere right now and you should be listening. Did I mention that I like it?
ALOT!!”
